Croatia, Part Five – Zagreb And Street Art

“Art is an evolutionary act. The shape of art and its role in society is constantly changing. At no point is art static. There are no rules.” Raymond Salvatore Harmon

I have a deep love for great street art. There is a big difference to me between a crappy spray paint tag and something expressive painted on a wall. During my first trip to Zagreb to meet up with Jesus, I passed by this incredible wall that goes on for almost half a mile where street artists were apparently given a place to showcase their ideas.

When we headed back to stay for a couple days at the end of the trip, I knew where I was heading first. I spent nearly an hour photographing up and down the street.

And one last pitch for how amazing and affordable things are in Croatia. Jesus and I got a two room suite at a Four Seasons hotel for a total of $60 per night. I stayed in shared room hostels for close to what my half of the room cost. Seriously, if you want to travel well for a low cost then let me recommend Croatia.

Here are some of my favorite images from Zagreb, especially the wall of street art.
