Croatia, Part Two – Pure Beauty In Plitvice

“Simplicity, clarity, singleness: These are the attributes that give our lives power and vividness and joy as they are also the marks of great art.”  Richard Holloway

One place came up as a “must visit” almost every time I talked with someone who had visited Croatia, Plitvice Lakes National Park.  Jesus had put it on the list, but Croatia was so far into the trip that I had not done much research on it until a few weeks before I was to arrive.

There is a certain beauty to something simple and natural like a waterfall.  Plitvice takes things to a whole new level.  There are lakes that pour into other lakes and form waterfalls in the process.  The great thing is how it happens over and over.

There is one huge waterfall in particular that is breathtaking.  I found a wonderful spot and climbed out onto the rocks to relax, meditate, and take in the beautiful view.  After a while, I headed on to see the rest of the park.  I would love to go back someday with a tripod, a permit, and a couple of days just to photograph the park.

Here are the photos from what I hope is only my first trip to Plitvice.
